In this work, I draw on recollections of my years living in Ireland- it's shimmering lakes and verdant greens, its people and its poets.
'I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,
I hear it in the deep heart's core.

For the past few years I has been exploring what I like to call 'Personal Geographies'-delving into memories, places and experiences that mark my continuing journey. These paintings have evolved from such introspections.
This painting is the product of remembrances and musings, inspired by journeys into the Australian Outback. I hoped to capture those magical moments when sunset lends a crimson glow to rock striations and Nature’s myriad colours are revealed in all their glory.
